Design Review Guide: Marketplace Design Alignment
This guide outlines how we’ll work together during the design review phase to ensure your marketplace is visually aligned with your brand and that everyone feels confident at launch — with no last‑minute design surprises.
Think of this phase as getting to launch‑ready design alignment across the entire marketplace experience.
Purpose of the Design Review
The design review is focused on visual alignment and brand confidence — not just functional setup.
We typically run design reviews using Figma, since it’s the most common tool our customers use and works well for collaborative feedback. That said, we’re flexible. If your team uses a different design or feedback tool, we’re happy to work with whatever system you prefer.
The key requirement is that we have a clear, shared source of truth for visual feedback and approvals.
This process helps us:
- Align on the final look and feel of your marketplace
- Ensure the experience reflects your brand and design standards
- Identify any platform constraints early, before launch
- Give you clear visibility into what the live marketplace will look like
By the end of this phase, you should feel comfortable saying:
“Yes — this matches our brand, and we’re confident launching with this.”
How the Design Review Works
During implementation, Partner Fleet will configure your marketplace homepage and listing pages in parallel, using standard admin‑level configuration options available in the platform.
We aim to get both the homepage and all required listing pages to a near‑final, MVP‑plus state before requesting consolidated design feedback. Reviewing everything together helps ensure visual consistency across the marketplace and reduces fragmented feedback.
To support this, Partner Fleet will:
- Configure homepage layout and structure
- Set up header, footer, navigation, and homepage components
- Build listing pages for each required listing template or listing type
- Populate pages with example content so layouts accurately reflect the final experience users will see at launch
These in‑platform pages serve as the visual baseline for design review.
What We’re Looking for From You
At this stage, you’ll provide Partner Fleet with design feedback via Figma (or a similar design/feedback tool) that captures your branding guidance and desired visual updates across both the homepage and listing pages.
This feedback helps us align the marketplace with your internal design standards and launch expectations.
Visual & Brand Standards
If available, sharing the following ahead of or during review is extremely helpful:
- Brand guidelines or design system documentation
- Color usage (primary, secondary, accents)
- Font preferences and hierarchy (where applicable)
- Logo usage and spacing expectations
Homepage Design Feedback
Please review and comment on:
- Homepage banner (layout, styling, imagery direction)
- Header and footer styling
- Navigation and overall page structure
- Categories, filters, and search presentation
- Partner card styling, including hover states
- Overall spacing, hierarchy, and visual tone
Listing Page Design Feedback
For each listing template or listing type, please review and comment on:
- Page layout and structure
- Typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy
- How content sections, metadata, and CTAs should stand out
- Brand consistency across all listing experiences
Platform Constraints & Transparency
Our platform is highly configurable, but there are some system constraints.
As part of the design review process:
- We’ll implement everything we can within the platform
- If something isn’t feasible, we’ll clearly call it out
- We’ll explain why it’s constrained and what the closest supported alternative is
The goal is full transparency and shared understanding well before launch.
Design Revisions & Alignment
We expect this to be a collaborative process and are happy to support a few rounds of design revisions to ensure the marketplace meets your expectations.
Typically, this includes a couple of review and revision cycles to:
- Accurately incorporate your feedback
- Fine‑tune brand and visual alignment
- Ensure everyone is aligned on the final launch experience
Once designs are aligned and approved, the reviewed designs become the implementation reference for launch.
What Success Looks Like
This phase is successful when:
- The homepage and all listing pages have been reviewed and approved together
- Branding and design standards are clearly reflected
- Any platform constraints are understood and accepted
- Everyone is aligned on what will go live
At that point, we move forward confidently — knowing the marketplace reflects your brand and meets your expectations.
If questions come up during review, we’re always happy to walk through designs together or clarify what’s configurable vs. fixed.
