MCP Server (Beta)

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to your marketplace so it can find, read and draft listings and review partner applications, with you in control of every change.

Beta

The MCP server is in Beta. Joining the Beta is free, and we turn it on customer by customer. To request access for your marketplace, email [email protected].

Overview

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with other software. Partner Fleet's MCP server gives an assistant you trust a secure connection to your marketplace. You ask in plain language, for example "find the listing whose FAQ mentions SOC 2", and the assistant does the work in Partner Fleet for you.

The connection always acts as you. It can only do what you allow when you connect, and it never publishes anything: every change it makes waits for a person on your team to approve it.

What you can do

Listings

  • Find a listing by what it says. Search the full content of your published listings (name, tagline, description, features, services, FAQs, benefits and description sections), not just their names.
  • Read a listing in full, including every section and its status.
  • Fix and improve content. Edit a listing's details, and add, change or remove individual items such as features, FAQs, benefits or team members.
  • Draft new listings from information you give the assistant, following the rules of the template you choose.
  • Send a listing for review. When a draft is ready, the assistant submits it to your approval queue. If something is missing, it tells you exactly what.
  • Check your queue, for example "which listings are waiting for approval?"

Partner applications and form responses (read-only)

  • See what needs review, for example "which partner applications are waiting for a decision?"
  • Summarize or compare applications, using every answer the applicant gave.
  • Report on volume, for example "how many applications did we get last month, and how many did we approve?"
  • Read responses to your General Forms.

How you stay in control

  • It acts as you. You connect by signing in with your own Partner Fleet admin account, and the connection works only while that account keeps the Admin role.
  • It can only do what you allow. When you connect, you choose its permissions, for example read-only access to listings. Permissions that show applicants' personal data start switched off, so you only grant them on purpose.
  • It never deletes a listing. No permission allows it. The assistant can remove an individual item inside a listing (for example one FAQ), but only as an edit you have allowed, and only on a draft.
  • It never approves anything. It can send a listing for approval, but only a person on your team can approve it. It can't approve or reject partner applications.
  • Published listings don't change until you approve. Editing a published listing creates (or reuses) the partner's draft version. The live page stays the same until someone approves the draft, exactly as with a partner's own update. See Reviewing Partner Listing Updates.
  • You can disconnect it at any time from the MCP page in your admin.

What it can't do

  • Delete, restore or approve listings, or approve or reject applications.
  • Change a partner's website or external ID after the listing is created.
  • Upload images from your computer. It can attach an image only from a public URL you give it.
  • Change marketplace settings, templates, users or integrations, or create new categories and filters. It can only assign the categories and filters a listing's template already offers.
  • Read App Approval or Review Form submissions. It can read Partner Application, Registration Form and General Form submissions only.
  • Be used by partners. Only marketplace admins can connect.

Before you start

You need:

  • The Admin role in Partner Fleet. See Roles and Permissions.
  • MCP turned on for your marketplace. If it is, you'll see an MCP tab under Advanced in the admin sidebar.
  • An AI assistant that supports custom MCP connectors with sign-in (OAuth), such as Claude or ChatGPT on a plan that offers custom connectors.

Using the Core API instead?

MCP is for people working with an AI assistant. For scripts, scheduled jobs and other software, use an API key with the Core API. API keys can't be used to connect to the MCP server.
